No-Fuss Pickled Onions

Pickled onions taste so good on their own, on sandwiches, wraps, salads and charcuterie boards but did you know you can make your own No-Fuss Pickled Onions. Forgot to get some at the store? No worries! All you need are red onions, distilled white vinegar, salt, water, and honey if you want to add it!


  • 1.5 Small-Medium Red Onions, Sliced
  • 1 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 1..5 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. Add sliced onions to a large sterilized mason jar
  2. In a small pot add vinegar, water, salt and honey
  3. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat
  4. Add liquid to mason jar
  5. Add more water or vinegar if needed to completely fill the jar
  6. Place in the fridge and let set for 24 hours


Feel free to play around with the salt, honey or add other flavours like garlic! You can also eat the pickled onions earlier if you want.
